This week in high-end audio, Focal & Naim announced an ambitious collaborative wireless speaker system. From Japan, Final introduced the company’s first closed-back headphone, while Nmode released a 1-bit integrated amplifier with the brand’s largest power supply capacity. While new product announcements were relatively limited this week, each company’s technical challenges shine through in the featured products.

1. New Product Releases (Official Announcements)

  • Mu-so Hekla — Focal & Naim (Wireless Speaker System)

    • Main Specifications: All-in-one wireless speaker system featuring 15-driver configuration with 660W Class-D amplification. Delivers three-dimensional soundstage reproduction through Dolby Atmos support. Aluminum enclosure with perforated metal grille. Covers spaces up to 40㎡. Equipped with HDMI eARC, optical digital, RCA, and subwoofer outputs. Supports AirPlay, Google Cast, and Bluetooth.
    • Price: €3,300 | US\$3,600 | £3,000
    • Release: November 2025 (Korea/China first), Q1 2026 global rollout. Exhibition scheduled at CES 2026 (Las Vegas) and ISE 2026 (Barcelona).
    • Key Points: Named after Iceland’s Hekla volcano, this system represents the first collaborative model integrating Focal’s acoustic design with Naim Audio’s digital amplification technology. First Mu-so series product to prominently feature the Focal brand, embodying a design philosophy that blurs the line between home cinema and Hi-Fi. Proprietary room calibration function automatically adjusts optimal acoustic balance according to installation environment.
  • DX3000CL — Final (Headphones)

    • Main Specifications: First closed-back design in the DX series. Features 40mm paper-carbon composite dynamic driver. Free-edge surround structure suppresses unwanted resonance. Enclosure and damping mechanism designed and developed in Japan. Lightweight chassis and low-pressure headband accommodate extended listening sessions.
    • Price: £579.99 | €599.99 | US\$599.99
    • Release: Currently available (announced in Tokyo and UK)
    • Key Points: Represents new development in the DX series that brings Final’s high-end acoustic philosophy to a dynamic driver platform. Following the magnesium driver technology of the open-back DX6000, pursues the company’s natural acoustic balance in a closed-back configuration. Paper-carbon composite diaphragm balances speed and texture while avoiding harshness typical of rigid materials. Achieves versatility for home, studio, and portable applications.
  • X-PM11 — Nmode (Integrated Amplifier)

    • Main Specifications: Integrated amplifier adopting 1-bit amplifier approach. Maximum output 20W×2 (8Ω) / 34W×2 (4Ω). Achieves brand’s largest power supply capacity. 3 RCA inputs, 2 XLR inputs (pin 2 HOT). Features Power Amplifier Mode capable of bypassing volume circuit. Achieves wider bandwidth and higher S/N through high-precision components, redesigned signal path/enclosure/ground, and optimized printed circuit board layout.
    • Price: ¥385,000 (tax included)
    • Release: November 21, 2025 (Japan)
    • Key Points: Developed as a culmination of 1-bit technology by Nmode, now in its 17th year. Significantly strengthened power supply capacity achieves driving force beyond output specifications, accommodating even large speakers. Thoroughly examined enclosure design from prototyping stage, aiming for “open and transparent soundstage with better clarity.” Maintains quality control through domestic manufacturing while including remote control (volume/selector support) and spike pins as standard equipment.
