The amplifier workshop “OTOMON,” based in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, has announced its flagship model, the monaural power amplifier “King & Queen The Royal.” It is available for build-to-order, with a price of 4,950,000 JPY (tax included) per pair.

A Gorgeous Combination of 211 and 300B Tubes

This unit uses four renowned “211” large transmitting tubes per channel in the output stage, in a Class A parallel push-pull configuration. This achieves a massive output of 160W (8Ω), which is exceptional for a tube amplifier.

Furthermore, the driver stage uses two popular “300B” direct-heated triode tubes, and the first stage and phase inverter stage use “12AY7” tubes, making for a luxurious configuration worthy of the names “King” and “Queen.”

Proprietary “O.U.D.D.C.” Driver Circuit

Between the driver and output stages is OTOMON’s proprietary, patent-pending driver circuit, the “O.U.D.D.C. (Otomon Ultimate Direct heat tube Drive Circuit).” This is said to achieve both low distortion and a vast soundstage.

It is equipped with one RCA and two XLR input terminals. The output impedance can be specified at the time of order from 4Ω, 8Ω, or 16Ω.

This is the debut of a dreadnought-class power amplifier, the culmination of the workshop’s deep knowledge and passion for vacuum tubes, which it has cultivated through repairing vintage audio equipment and manufacturing original amplifiers.
