The prestigious German high-end audio manufacturer, MBL Akustikgeräte, has announced that its business has been acquired by MBL International GmbH, a new subsidiary of the major Chinese jewelry company Chow Tai Seng. The company states that this transaction secures the long-term future of MBL and is an important step towards resolving the ongoing insolvency proceedings.

Management and Brand to be Maintained

Even after this acquisition, there will be no changes to MBL’s management, and Christian Hermeling will continue to serve as CEO. The brand’s philosophy, product development, and production system at its own factory in Eberswalde, a suburb of Berlin, Germany, will also be maintained.

MBL is known worldwide for its unique omnidirectional speaker series, ‘Radialstrahler,’ and has established a solid position in the high-end audio market for over 40 years with its innovative technology and uncompromising sound quality.

Stability and Growth with New Capital

CEO Christian Hermeling stated, ‘Our new owner highly values MBL’s uniqueness and craftsmanship and is a strong partner for maintaining and developing the brand’s value. We are excited about the beginning of this new chapter.’

With new capital, MBL will be able to stabilize its management base and accelerate investment in research and development and market expansion. It seems that German craftsmanship and innovative technology will continue to be delivered to audiophiles around the world.
