Swiss legacy audio brand Revox has launched the Grandmaster Audio Cassette series, a line of premium blank cassette tapes. This marks the company’s serious entry into the premium segment amid the ongoing cassette revival.
Entering the Cassette Revival
In September this year, Revox announced its collaboration with National Audio Company and plans to resume tape manufacturing in Europe. The Grandmaster series represents the first product from this strategic initiative.
As the modern music scene becomes increasingly chaotic, the company aims to offer a simpler, more stable, and unmistakably analog experience.
Custom-Developed Type I Ferro Tape
The Grandmaster series features Type I Ferro (normal position) tape specially developed for Revox. It is engineered to deliver consistent recording results on any cassette deck set to normal position.
Two variants are available: C60 (30 minutes per side, 60 minutes total) and C90 (45 minutes per side, 90 minutes total).
Modern Shell Design Improvements
The shell housing the tape features a custom-designed screw-fixed construction for stability and durability. Unlike traditional cassette tapes that required breaking off tabs to prevent accidental erasure, the Grandmaster features a reusable lock mechanism that allows repeated recording and re-recording.
Comprehensive Accessories
Each cassette comes with a triple J-card (space for three song list cards), transparent snap case, and two label stickers, making it easy to document and organize your recordings.
