Audio Group Denmark’s speaker brand Børresen has announced the new bass module “Bass Module 3 (BM3).” This product combines the company’s proprietary driver technology with integrated expertise from the Aavik/Ansuz group, priced at €18,000.
Product Overview
The BM3 features a folded bipole design with four 8-inch Børresen DCC8 Neo drivers in a “boxer engine” configuration. This design “eliminates room pressurization” and achieves natural bass integration regardless of distance from walls.

Technical Features
Folded Bipole Design
The BM3’s defining feature is its “folded bipole” design with four drivers in opposing configuration. It eliminates the “room pressurization” generated by conventional sealed or bass-reflex subwoofers, enabling seamless integration with main speakers. This provides installation flexibility less affected by room shape or wall distance.
DCC8 Neo Drivers
The 8-inch drivers employ advanced composite diaphragms inheriting Børresen’s proprietary DCC (Dual Carbon Composite) technology. Lightweight yet highly rigid, they deliver accurate, well-controlled bass reproduction.
Aavik UMAC Amplifier
The built-in amplifier uses UMAC (Ultra Music Amplifier Concept) modules developed by Aavik, also under Audio Group Denmark. This high-efficiency Class D amplifier, developed in collaboration with Pascal, provides 2-channel × 300W output.
Fully Analog Crossover
The signal path uses a fully analog crossover without DSP processing. This design philosophy maintains phase coherence with main speakers by eliminating delays and sonic alterations from digital processing.
