The veteran American headphone brand Grado has announced the ‘S750,’ the third model in its Signature Series. The S750 is a model that aims to further refine the listening experience by incorporating an all-new S2 50mm driver at its core and combining it with a newly developed ‘B’ cushion.

Newly Developed “S2” Driver

Designed from the ground up for the S750, the S2 driver features a diaphragm made of a carbon fiber and paper composite and a lightweight copper-plated aluminum (CCAW) voice coil. This is claimed to achieve a natural sound with both high resolution and a vast dynamic range.

New “B” Cushion

The “B” cushion, which debuts with the S750, shortens the distance between the driver and the ear, creating a more direct soundstage. It has a smaller inner diameter than the “G” cushion used in previous high-end models, and the eight slits in the cushion optimize airflow, which is said to broaden the soundstage without sacrificing detail.

This “B” cushion will also be sold separately and is compatible with all existing Grado wired headphones, giving users a new option to customize the sound of their own headphones.

Key Specifications

  • Frequency Response: 6Hz – 46kHz
  • THD (100dB): < 0.2%
  • Sensitivity: 115dB SPL (1mW)
  • Impedance: 38Ω
  • Weight: 460g
  • Cable: Detachable

Richard Grado, COO of Grado, commented, “The B cushion provides another way for listeners to experience Grado headphones, offering flexibility in sound signature preferences.”

The Signature S750 is a noteworthy new product for audio fans, incorporating new technical challenges while inheriting Grado’s tradition.
