Panasonic Corporation has announced the ‘SL-1200GME’, a new variation model of its direct-drive turntable system from the Technics brand.
Further Evolution Based on the SL-1200G
The SL-1200GME is a model that has been improved in detail, based on the SL-1200G, which was launched in 2016 and has been highly acclaimed as a reference model. It combines the analog technology that Technics has cultivated over many years with the latest digital technology.
Key Features
- Coreless Direct-Drive Motor: The coreless direct-drive motor, which eliminates cogging (rotational irregularities) and was adopted in the SL-1200G, has been further improved. It achieves even smoother and more stable rotation.
- High-Rigidity Platter: The three-layer platter, which integrates brass and aluminum die-cast, thoroughly eliminates unwanted resonance.
- High-Sensitivity Tonearm: Equipped with Technics’ traditional static balance S-shaped universal tonearm. It uses a lightweight and highly rigid magnesium pipe and boasts high tracking performance.
- Special Finish: The SL-1200GME is scheduled to have a special finish and accessories that will satisfy the joy of ownership.
The Technics SL-1200GME has been developed with the aim of faithfully reproducing the excitement of music by drawing out the music information engraved on analog records to the fullest. Its appearance as a new reference for analog audio is eagerly awaited.
