On November 14, 2025, Lyric announced the release of the X-PM11, a 1-bit integrated amplifier featuring “the brand’s largest power supply capacity,” from its Nmode brand on November 21. Priced at ¥385,000 (tax included), this model represents a culmination of Nmode’s 17-year pursuit of 1-bit technology.

1-Bit Technology and Nmode’s History

Nmode is a Japanese audio brand that has pursued the appeal of 1-bit amplifiers, now entering its 17th year of operation in 2025. The 1-bit amplifier approach converts digital signals into 1-bit pulse streams for amplification, offering a different approach to music reproduction compared to conventional analog amplifiers.

The newly announced X-PM11 is an ambitious work that thoroughly pursues the power amplifier section, significantly increasing power supply capacity. This improvement achieves driving capability beyond the output specifications, enabling it to drive even large speakers.

Thorough Enclosure Design and Sound Quality Pursuit

In developing this unit, Nmode repeatedly examined the enclosure design from the prototyping stage. The company’s goal was to achieve “a more open and transparent soundstage with better clarity.”

Through the adoption of high-precision components, renewal of the signal path, new enclosure and ground design, and thorough refinement of the printed circuit board and layout, the amplifier achieves wider bandwidth and higher S/N ratio. It also includes a “Power Amplifier Mode” that can bypass the volume circuit, accommodating systems that use a separate preamplifier.

Main Specifications and Features

The X-PM11’s maximum output is 20W×2 (8Ω) / 34W×2 (4Ω). While this output specification is not particularly large, Nmode states that strengthening the power supply capacity has achieved driving force beyond the numerical values.

Input terminals include 3 RCA and 2 XLR (pin 2 HOT) connections. Balanced connection support enables integration into professional applications and high-end systems.

External dimensions are 420W×68H×320Dmm, with a mass of 10.3kg. Accessories include a remote control with volume control and selector functions, plus three spike pins.

Commitment to Domestic Manufacturing

All Nmode products are manufactured domestically. This policy ensures thorough quality control and reflects Japanese craftsmanship in the products. The X-PM11 is no exception, with domestic production maintaining quality standards down to the finest details.

Release Date and Pricing

The X-PM11 will be released on November 21, 2025. Priced at ¥385,000 (tax included), it will be available through authorized Nmode dealers.

For audiophiles interested in 1-bit amplifier technology and sound-quality-focused listeners who don’t prioritize output specifications, this represents a noteworthy option.
