Zoot Communication has released a new MC cartridge “EX700 Cartridge AR-MCC-EX700” from its analog audio brand Analog Relax. The price is ¥979,000 (including tax).

The EX700 inherits the technology and philosophy developed in the brand’s flagship model “EX2000” and was developed to enable deeper and richer musical enjoyment.

Main Features

1. Wooden Body Inspired by Legendary Violins Like the flagship EX2000, the cartridge body uses premium “spruce wood”. Specifically, spruce from the Forest of Fiemme in Northern Italy, where wood for the legendary Stradivarius violins was reportedly sourced. The excellent acoustic properties of this wood make a significant contribution to the cartridge’s sound.

2. Traditional Oil Varnish Finish The body is hand-finished with traditional “oil varnish” used for classical string instruments. This maximizes the resonance of the wood while achieving both beautiful appearance and durability.

3. High-Performance Generator System

  • Stylus/Cantilever: Combines a line contact stylus with outstanding tracing ability and a lightweight yet rigid boron cantilever to accurately read the minute information engraved in record grooves.
  • Magnet/Coil: A generator system using powerful neodymium magnets and high-purity copper wire achieves high output and wide dynamic range.

4. Assembly by Master Craftsmen Each unit is precisely assembled by skilled Japanese craftsmen. From wood selection through processing, varnishing, and generator system installation, every step is performed with meticulous attention to detail.

The Analog Relax EX700 is more than just an audio component - it’s a masterpiece worthy of being called a “musical instrument” for music lovers. Its beautiful presence and rich, lifelike sound will bring new joy to analog record playback.
