Stella Co., Ltd. has released the phono stage “COTYS” from the Bulgarian high-end audio brand Thrax. The price is ¥1,870,000 (including tax).
COTYS is an uncompromising phono stage designed to amplify the minute musical information that modern high-performance MC (Moving Coil) cartridges extract from vinyl records without any loss.
Main Features
1. Fully Balanced Topology and Differential Input Stage The signal path is fully balanced from input to output. The input stage employs a differential input transformer optimized for ultra-low impedance MC cartridges, effectively eliminating common-mode noise.
2. LCR-Type RIAA Equalizer Rather than conventional CR or NF types, the RIAA equalization circuit uses the LCR type, which is considered superior in sound quality. Using high-quality parts such as custom-made inductors with nanocrystalline cores and audio-grade film capacitors, it achieves an extremely accurate equalization curve with no phase distortion.
3. Two Independent MC Inputs Equipped with two MC inputs, each with independently adjustable gain and load impedance settings. This is a highly convenient specification for analog enthusiasts who use multiple tonearms or cartridges.
4. Robust Machined Aluminum Chassis The enclosure is machined from thick aluminum blocks. This effectively blocks external vibrations and electromagnetic interference, protecting delicate phono signals.
