ZYX

ZYX has announced the Ultimate VX Monaural Series, a complete renewal of the company’s monaural MC cartridges, with order acceptance beginning December 10, 2025. The series is positioned as the successor to ZYX’s MC monaural cartridges, representing a model change aimed at achieving higher precision and improved playback capabilities.

4-Model Lineup

The lineup consists of the following 4 models, with all prices including tax:

  • Bloom-VX-MONO: ¥171,600
  • R100-VX-MONO: ¥220,000
  • Airy3-VX-MONO: ¥275,000
  • 4D-VX-MONO: ¥330,000

New VX System Instantly Eliminates Eddy Currents at Point of Generation

The series features a newly developed generator system that builds upon the conventional EX mechanical structure and instantly eliminates eddy currents generated in the generator system at the point of generation.

While eddy currents of reverse magnetic fields occurring in the yoke parts positioned before and after the generator coil are minute, they are said to affect the audio signal. The VX series suppresses these, claiming to further enhance the realistic playback capabilities inherent to MC-type cartridges.

1-mil Diameter Conical Stylus and Aluminum-Magnesium Alloy Cantilever

The stylus adopts a specification combining a 1-mil diameter conical stylus with an aluminum-magnesium alloy cantilever.

For the Airy3-VX-MONO and 4D-VX-MONO, an optional “C0.7 Ultimate specification” is available, featuring a 0.7-mil conical stylus and converged carbon fiber cantilever, with a special order charge of ¥11,000 including tax.

Grade-Specific High-Purity Copper Wire for Generator Coils

The generator coils use 6N OFC for the Bloom-VX-MONO and R100-VX-MONO, while the Airy3-VX-MONO and 4D-VX-MONO employ 6N crystal copper.

Common Specifications

Common specifications for all models include moving coil type generator method, 1.0mV output voltage (5cm/sec, 1kHz), and 10Hz–25kHz frequency response.

Recommended tracking force range is 2.0–3.5g, with optimal tracking force at 2.5g. Internal impedance is 10Ω. Magnets are samarium cobalt, and the housing is made of polycarbonate.

Different Distributor Systems in East and West Japan

Domestic handling is divided between Allegro for eastern Japan and Hino Enterprise for western Japan.
