Scottish high-end audio manufacturer Linn has announced two major upgrades for its flagship Klimax LP12 model of the iconic Sondek LP12 turntable: the new generation Klimax Radikal motor control and power supply unit, and the new Keel SE sub-chassis.

New Power Supply Unit: Klimax Radikal

The new Klimax Radikal features Linn’s recently developed “Utopik” power supply technology. This allows for the supply of independent, highly isolated voltage rails for the motor drive and the phono stage (if installed). This dramatically improves power supply stability, resulting in more accurate rotational speed and a lower noise floor.

The chassis has also been redesigned, adopting a robust structure machined from three solid aluminum sections. Combined with high-mass stainless steel feet, it ensures thorough electrical and mechanical isolation.

New Sub-chassis: Keel SE

The “Keel SE” is a further evolution of the original Keel sub-chassis, which was introduced in 2006. Linn has optimized the structure using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), achieving an approximately 300% increase in rigidity compared to the previous model, while also improving mass balance and reducing inertia.

This provides a quiet and stable platform for accurately reading more information from the record groove by thoroughly eliminating unwanted vibrations.

Pricing and Availability

  • Klimax Radikal: £11,500 / $16,820 / €13,680
  • Keel SE: £4,250 / $6,215 / €5,060

Both products are scheduled to ship at the end of October 2025.

Since its introduction in 1973, the LP12 has remained at the forefront of performance through continuous upgrades. This latest upgrade offers Klimax LP12 owners an unparalleled opportunity to elevate their systems to the latest and greatest.
